The Maaji firm has just presented a new collaboration with the Colombian artist Claudia Gontovnik. It is a proposal for sustainable and limited edition garments.

Together with a group of mothers who are heads of households and artisans, the brand and the artist created this collection of social responsibility that encourages support for sustainable fashion and Colombian talent.

In the proposal there are eight references between t-shirts, sweatshirts and joggers, made by hand, with different fabrics in which colors and special touches such as flower appliques stand out.

Gontovnik was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and currently resides in Miami, United States. In addition to being an artist and having a fashion brand, she is a sociologist and has specialized in the reuse of garments creating unique pieces. “The idea of all my collections has to do with joining all the parts that are different: different colors, textures and materials that form a unique garment. That to me represents different religions, different cultures, different thoughts and different desires. All the seams that are seen, I developed them to signify the sutures that unite all the differences that are occurring in one place ”, Gontovnik said during the presentation of the proposal on an Instagram Live.

The Maaji firm was born in 2002 by the sisters Manuela and Amalia Sierra. It currently has a presence in more than 50 countries. In 2017 it was acquired by L Catterton Asia. The firm has several product lines, including swimwear, beachwear, activewear, loungewear and pajamas, as well as accessories, children's clothing and men's swim shorts.
